Happy Navy Day!

On this day in 1922, we established the very first Navy Day!

The New York Navy League council proposed that the official observance be on October 27th in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt. Today, we come together to celebrate Navy Day and honor the incredible men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving in the United States Navy.

The goal of Navy Day is to increase public awareness of the Navy's role and achievements and to support the men and women serving in the Navy.

As we celebrate Navy Day, we encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the Navy’s enduring commitment to global peace and national security. Please join us in honoring their legacy and the brave service members who continue to inspire us every day.

Thank you for your dedication to the Navy League’s mission and for helping us build a strong and vibrant community that supports the Navy and all of our sea services.

Happy Navy Day, Navy Leaguers! Celebrate accordingly.

Peter Savio Mercury Club Guest

Speaker

PETER SAVIO Mercury Business Association Talk on Monday 11-4-24.

Peter B. Savio is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Savio Group of Companies, including Savio Realty Ltd, Savio Asset Management LLC, and Savio Developments Ltd.

Born in Hilo but raised on Oahu, Peter has more than 60 years of experience in real estate development and sales in the Hawaii market. He  has been helping his clients realize the maximum return on their real estate investments since he founded Savio Realty Ltd. in 1980. Savio has centered much of his career on affordable housing and agriculture projects within the state. To date, Savio has converted over 24,000 units to fee simple ownership, making the Savio Group the largest active lease-to-fee converter in the State of Hawaii. At just 15 years old, Savio bought his first property, a Waikiki apartment, using money from his paper route for the down payment.

Peter's new book, Hawaii's Housing Solution, tackles the systemic failures behind Hawaii's housing crisis, criticizing both political and public shortcomings. Rather than just increasing supply, Savio challenges traditional solutions and offers a new framework for resolving the issue. His innovative ideas and practical applications present a transformative approach to creating a more inclusive and sustainable housing market in Hawaii.

Following its October 18 release, Peter's book has already reached #1 on Amazon in the real estate subcategory.

Come see Peter in person – Noon, November 4th – Pacific Club – RSVP David C Livingston – 808 542-4945 - $45.00 for the lunch – Cheeseburger and Fries or Caesar Chicken Salad (Let Dave Know)

ECONOMIC AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT - How to effectively lead future teams

Boost Business Success: How Strong Leadership Enhances Customer Service Excellence

Successful leaders understand that delivering excellent customer service is not just a department’s responsibility but a critical component of organizational success. By fostering a culture that prioritizes the customer, leaders can inspire their teams to deliver beyond expectations, ensuring long-term client satisfaction and loyalty.

As I often say, “Leadership is about creating an environment where employees feel empowered to exceed customer expectations and drive the company’s mission forward.” Here’s how leadership and customer service can complement each other for sustained success:

1. Lead by Example: The Role of Leadership in Setting the Customer Service Tone

Great customer service starts at the top. Leaders who emphasize and model the importance of customer service set the tone for the entire organization. When employees see leadership valuing and prioritizing customer interactions, they are more likely to mirror that behavior.

Tip: Take time to regularly interact with customers and share these experiences with your team. When they see your hands-on approach, it reinforces the importance of putting the customer first.

2. Empowering Employees to Make Decisions

One of the most effective ways to enhance customer service is to empower employees to make decisions on the spot. Leaders should create a culture where employees are trusted to use their judgment in resolving customer issues quickly, without having to seek multiple approvals.

Tip: Establish clear guidelines for decision...

" First of all, every day in this audience ("The View" June 25, 2024), it's a tough conversation to have. The truth is, everybody's gonna die at some point. Don't leave it for your kids to deal with. Get a PrePlan, make a will. Do not wait until you die. You're leaving people in pain at your loss, trying to figure out what you wanted. Tell people what you want before your demise." Whoopi Goldberg, author, comedienne, actress, EGOT winner (one of only 19), co-host of "The View."

Whoopi is right. However, a preplan is different from a will. A will is to state who you want to leave any property or money you might have. A Pre-Plan is for you to decide whether you want a traditional/casket or cremation. You can make the decisions now as to where you will be buried, or whether you want to be cremated and your ashes scattered, or whether you want a niche, a family plot, or have your own mausoleum, etc. With a Pre-Plan, you will be able to give peace of mind to those close to you and to yourself. Being prepared is an important part of the life you are living. I can help you prepare yourself for the inevitable no matter when it might arrive. Yes, you can take care of planning your end-of-life now and be sure that your loved ones will be able to follow your personal instructions. If you plan well in advance, you will prevent their suffering and sudden financial costs. Don't know where to start? Give me a call. I will help you with your Pre-Plan. You will be able to give peace of mind to those close to you and to yourself. Please call me today. I can help you just like I have assisted more than 10,000 Hawaii families and individuals make their plans for cremation or burial. And, if you travel often, you can also purchase a lifetime travel plan for $499 that, in case you should die while away from Hawaii, will pay to bring your body back – a procedure that can cost thousands of dollars and occurs more often than you may think. Thi s is something you can do that is positive and will be of help to family and friends alike.

A Pre-Plan is a very powerful thing to do. So please do this while you still can, and those who love you can celebrate your life with you now, not after it's too late.
